Operation: When system pressure exceeds the set point, the hydraulic force acting on the valve overcomes the spring force, causing the valve to open. This allows excess fluid to flow out of the system until pressure drops below the set point, closing the valve.

Pilot-Operated Relief Valves:

Function: Pilot-operated relief valves use a pilot mechanism to modulate the opening and closing of the main valve.

Operation: The pilot mechanism controls the flow of fluid to a small piston or diaphragm, which in turn regulates the operation of the main relief valve. Pilot-operated relief valves offer finer control over pressure settings and are suitable for applications requiring precise pressure regulation.

Pressure-Compensated Relief Valves:

Function: Pressure-compensated relief valves automatically adjust their set point based on changes in system pressure.

Operation: These valves use a pressure-compensating mechanism to maintain a constant pressure differential across the valve, regardless of variations in system pressure. This ensures consistent pressure regulation under varying load conditions.

Applications: Pressure-compensated relief valves are commonly used in hydraulic systems where maintaining a constant pressure is essential, such as in mobile equipment, agricultural machinery, and industrial automation.
