Direction of Energy Transfer:
Hydraulic Pump: Energy transfer in a hydraulic pump occurs from the mechanical input (rotation of the drive shaft) to the hydraulic fluid (generation of pressure and flow).
Hydraulic Motor: Energy transfer in a hydraulic motor occurs from the pressurized hydraulic fluid (input) to the mechanical output (rotation of the motor shaft).
Components:
Both hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors consist of similar basic components, such as housings, shafts, pistons, gears, vanes, and bearings.
