Since 1911, and until 2000, Eaton was known primarily as a truck and parts supplier. Eaton's hydraulics business was very different from Rexroth's, which expanded through absorption and acquisitions, and after the 1990s Eaton became a diversified global leader in power management through a number of mergers and acquisitions. In 1999, Eaton acquired Aeroquip-Vickers, a global leader in industrial hydraulics; in 2000, the company formed a joint venture with Sumitomo Heavy Industries of Japan, and in 2001, the company completed a wholly owned joint venture, which enabled it to establish its position as a leader in the Asia-Pacific region; in 2005, Eaton acquired the filtration systems portion of Hayward Industries, and in 2011, Eaton acquired Internormen Technologies Group, which is one of the world's most successful companies. In 2005, we acquired the filtration system business of Hayward Industries, and in 2011, we acquired Internormen Technology Group, which further improved our filtration system business capability. At present, Eaton's hydraulic products used in the most areas are mainly agricultural machinery, construction machinery and aerospace, of which the first two belong to the Hydraulic Group, the latter income placed in the Aerospace Group.
