Q1: How do I select the right spool type for my hydraulic circuit design?

A1: Spool selection depends on your actuator resting requirement. Type 2 (Closed Center) holds cylinders in position under pressure when de-energized. Type 3 (Open Center) unloads pump flow directly to the tank while relieving pressure from A and B ports. Type 4 (Tandem Center) holds the cylinder locked while unloading the hydraulic pump back to the reservoir.

 

Q2: What fluid cleanliness level is required for the DSG-01 valve?

A2: We recommend maintaining a cleanliness level of ISO 4406 Class 19/16/13 (equivalent to NAS 1638 Class 9) or better. Installing a 10 to 25 micron suction/return filter in your system prevents spool jamming caused by fine particulate contamination.

 

Q3: Can the DSG-01 valve handle water-glycol or synthetic hydraulic fluids?

A3: Yes. Standard valves come with NBR seals for standard mineral oils. For water-glycol, synthetic esters, or phosphate ester fluids, please specify FKM (Viton) seals when ordering.
