Parker's series of pilot operated control valves D30FP enables higher product quality and shorter cycle times due to its outstanding dynamics. The high-precision control valve with VCD technology closes the gap between the direct operated D3FP valve and the conventional pilot operated D31FP valve. It provides high flow capacity and practically no flow limits like the D31FP in the envelope size of the D3FP. The valve works with the hydraulic follower principle, with a moving sleeve as main spool. All common input signals are available, and all valves have an IO-Link Class A interface as standard.

Q1: What is the difference between a standard proportional valve and the D30FP series?

A: Standard proportional valves use traditional solenoids, which can be slower to respond. The D30FP uses a Voice Coil Drive (VCD) in its pilot stage. This technology works like a loudspeaker coil, moving much faster and more accurately, giving the D30FP servo-valve-like performance with higher dirt tolerance.

 

Q2: What does "Pilot Operated" mean?

A: "Pilot operated" means the valve uses a smaller, internal hydraulic fluid stream (the pilot flow) to help move the large main spool. This is necessary for high-flow valves because the force required to move the main spool against high-pressure fluid is too strong for an electrical solenoid to move directly.
