The Yuken Variable Displacement Axial Piston Pump operates on the swash plate principle. Inside the cylinder block, multiple precision-ground pistons (plungers) are arranged axially around the drive shaft. As the shaft rotates, the shoe plate holds the piston shoes against the inclined swash plate, causing the pistons to reciprocate within their bores to draw in and compress hydraulic fluid.
